Xsens Analyze digitizes human movement for researchers in health, safety, humanoid robotics, and performance analysis to achieve motion data of unrivaled accuracy. Xsens has long been used by researchers, ergonomic professionals, humanoid robot developers, sports scientists, and healthcare practitioners to deepen the understanding of human movement and its implications for our knowledge about our body, safety measures, and performance. “Our latest release is designed to work faster, smarter, and more accurately to deliver a superior biomechanical data quality,” says Dennis Kloppenburg, Product Manager at Xsens. “We are the first inertial motion capture company to enable more accurate movement research by natively integrating male and female anatomical models, which will help to spark a new wave of scientific breakthroughs.” Improved precision One of the most significant updates to Xsens Analyze is its biomechanical model, which has been engineered to be more representative of human anatomy. Movella is the first inertial motion capture company to include male and female-specific biomechanic models natively in their software. The new models have varying features, such as centre of mass, hip and shoulder width, and limb length to accommodate anatomical differences. These refinements make for more accurate research data and enhanced assessments in ergonomics, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.  An enhanced spine model also ensures a more accurate evaluation of body movements, featuring greater trunk flexibility. Movella has updated this to accommodate an S shape when standing and a C curve when bending, enabling high-precision posture analysis using motion capture data. “Xsens Analyze 2025 is designed for researchers, biomechanists or occupational health and safety professionals to make innovative breakthroughs and data-led decisions on physical wellbeing,” adds Kloppenburg. “It provides key insights into gait, posture, and upper- and lower-body dynamics, enabling more accurate movement analysis.”   Enhanced efficiency Movella has also created more efficient workflows by introducing Auto Sensor Mapping (ASM) for the Xsens Awinda system. With ASM, researchers can attach the 17 sensors to any of the designated body segments – no need to match a specific sensor to a specific limb. The system automatically recognizes and maps each sensor to its correct location based on where it was placed. This flexible approach simplifies the setup process, reducing time and improving adaptability for field and laboratory studies. “We wanted to improve data processing abilities throughout the software,” continues Kloppenburg. “As well as automating sensor position, Xsens Analyze 2025 also features cleaner and more reliable motion capture data. This way, researchers can turn raw information into more meaningful, precise analysis.” These changes come alongside an optimised user interface based on industry feedback with enhanced usability features, including a new dark mode, making long research sessions more comfortable for analysts.  Xsens Analyze 2025 reinforces Movella’s commitment to biomechanical research and innovation through inertial motion capture.
