Xsens expands industrial navigation portfolio with Dual Antenna RTK GNSS/INS

Written by Xsens | Sep 3, 2026, 1:36:16 PM

Enschede, the Netherlands – September 2026 – Xsens, a global innovator in inertial sensing and motion technology, today announced the Xsens Dual Antenna RTK GNSS/INS, a new navigation solution designed to provide precise position, orientation, true heading and heave from startup, including when a platform is stationary or moving at low speed. The new product will be available in two configurations: Avior for compact OEM integration and Sirius for ruggedized, plug-and-play deployment.

The new Xsens Dual Antenna sensor module combines Xsens advanced technology with u-blox ZED-X20D all-band high-precision GNSS receiver to deliver centimeter-level positioning and motion-independent heading for static and slow-moving platforms.

True heading without waiting for motion

Autonomous and remotely operated systems need heading as well as position. Conventional single-antenna and magnetometer-based methods can require movement before heading is available, or can be disturbed by nearby metal, motors and electrical systems. Machinery, robots, vessels and stabilized platforms that must operate from standstill or at low speed are affected most.

“This is an important addition to the Xsens portfolio. By combining Dual Antenna GNSS with our advanced sensor fusion, we can deliver even greater heading accuracy and centimeter-level positioning to applications that need dependable navigation data from startup. We see a particularly strong fit in slow-moving and stationary applications, where knowing both position and direction without waiting for motion can make integration and operation significantly faster and more reliable.” Martijn van den Linden, Product Manager at Xsens

A longstanding collaboration with u-blox

The new solution builds on an established collaboration between Xsens and u-blox, whose positioning technology is already used across other components in the Xsens inertial sensor portfolio, giving shared customers a more complete route from component selection to a deployable navigation solution.

“At u-blox, we know that strong technology partnerships are essential to turn high-precision positioning into successful customer solutions. Xsens is a trusted, long-standing partner with whom we already collaborate across other parts of its sensor portfolio. By integrating reliable and out-of-the-box ZED-X20D all-band heading solution, we are combining complementary expertise to help our shared customers shorten development time, deploy with confidence, and maximize the success of their applications.” — JunJun Lu, Principal Product Manager at u-blox

Two integration paths for demanding platforms

The Avior Dual Antenna version is designed for OEMs that need a compact, lightweight and scalable module for embedded integration. Avior Dual Antenna can be integrate with a wide range of external GNSS receiver Its flexible form factor makes it suitable for systems in which size, weight and integration freedom are central design requirements.

The Sirius Dual Antenna version packages the same core navigation capability in an IP68-rated aluminum housing for exposed outdoor installations. Tested according to MIL-STD-202 for shock, vibration and environmental robustness, it operates from -40°C to +85°C and supports RS232, RS422, CAN and CAN-FD interfaces.

Availability

The Xsens Dual Antenna RTK GNSS/INS will be introduced in September 2026 and presented at INTERGEO 2026. Orders and Availability will follow. Product specifications and ordering information will be available at  www.xsens.com.
