10 Jan 2013

The new Porto Biomechanics Laboratory “LABIOMEP” at the University of Porto recently chose MVN BIOMECH as an important tool for their daily research activities.

Xsens was invited as a special guest presenter to the opening ceremony of “LABIOMEP” which took place from 5 – 7 December 2012.

“MVN BIOMECH was chosen as the 3D full-body human motion inertial measurement equipment that provided the best solution for our daily research activity needs.”

– Prof. João Paulo Vilas-Boas, University of Porto

Xsens product specialist, Giovanni Nolli, presented a workshop about the use of inertial sensors (IMU) in movement science. The Xsens MVN BIOMECH official training and live demonstration was the highlight of the event program.

Among the visitors were professors and researchers from different faculties such as: Sports Science, Engineering, Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

LABIOMEP is a technological center dedicated to scientific and technological research, innovation and teaching. The aim of the lab is to provide specialized technical services and knowledge transfer of technology for biomechanics, ergonomics, clinical use and sports science.

Prof. João Paulo Vilas-Boas (full professor at Faculty of Sports, University of Porto):“MVN BIOMECH was chosen as the 3D full-body human motion inertial measurement equipment that provided the best solution for their daily research activity needs.”
