MTi
The MTi is a miniature, gyro-enhanced Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). Its internal low-power signal processor provides drift-free 3D orientation as well as calibrated 3D acceleration, 3D rate of turn and 3D earth-magnetic field data.
The MTi is an excellent measurement unit for stabilization and control of cameras, robots, vehicles and other (un)manned equipment.
The standard version MTi contains accelerometers with a full scale of 5g and gyroscopes with a full scale of 300°/s. Accelerometers with a full scale of 1.7g and 18g as well as gyroscopes with a full scale of 150°/s and 1200°/s are available as well (see the dataseet below (PDF) for other options and complete specifications).
A number of pre-set user scenarios are available optimizing the Extended Kalman Filter routine for different applications. These pre-set user scenarios replace the manual filter settings used in previous versions of the Xsens sensor fusion algorithm . Based on the chosen scenario the sensor fusion algorithm will apply optimised filter settings recommended for the application.

development kit
First-time users should acquire the MTi Development Kit. The MT-DK allows users to configure the MTi and helps to start the first R&D within minutes.
It enables you to integrate the capabilities of the MTi in your own software or your favorite data analysis application, such as MATLAB or LabVIEW.
The MTi-DK contains the MTi sensor (in the rating of your choice), a USB cable, the MT Software Development Kit, conveniently packed in a protective case.

working principle
The MTi uses 3 rate gyros to track rapidly changing orientations in 3D and it measures the directions of gravity and magnetic north to provide a stable reference. The systems real-time algorithm fuses the sensor information to calculate accurate 3D orientation, stable over time, with a highly dynamic response rate.
Using the Development Kit, the MTi can easily be integrated in any system (OEM) application.
