An Xsens MTi will spend several months in the International Space Station (ISS). Space Applications Services from Zaventem, Belgium, participates in project WEAR++ that aims at developing a powerful, lightweight, modular and easily wearable Augmented Reality (AR) system that allows hands free operation using various technologies. WEAR++ is a project funded by ESA/ESTECl; the technology can be of use for architecture applications or construction engineering at the ISS. The Xsens MTi is used to correct images of the camera’s used in the setup.
Xsens Motion Trackers are very suitable for Augmented and Virtual Reality applications, as Xsens demonstrated in their own MATRIS project and now again by Space Applications Services.
