Pre and post functional evaluation of scapula kinematics on a population of baseball pitchers

Dr. Pellegrini is a member of the Unit of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery of Cervesi Hospital in Cattolica (Rimini), Italy

In his research the Xsens Xbus kit was used for the pre and post functional evaluation of scapula kinematics on a population of baseball pitchers.

This work is the result of the collaboration between Xsens, Cervesi Hospital and the Department of Sport Medicine of the Loyola University in Chicago.

The goal is to monitor the throwing shoulder in baseball pitchers and overhead athletes, applying an upper limb functional evaluation protocol for the kinematics analysis of the scapulo-humeral rhythm, looking for indications to prevent possible shoulder injuries.
