Different teams from international universities join forces in a total of 11 teams to explore the boundaries of cooperative driving. Xsens has provided sponsorships to the Halmstad and Mekar teams, and wishes them best of luck with the GCDC. The MTi-G will provide valuable information about position and orientation of the vehicle to make sure that the cooperative driving control algorithm will enable the vehicle to successfully perform the challenges. The GCDC is now over and we are proud the Halmstad University team finished second among such prestigious teams.
About GCDC
The Grand Cooperative Driving Challenge (GCDC) is a project to research and promote the cooperative driving technology. Cooperative systems offer the drivers, road authorities and the infrastructure more information about the vehicles, their location, their intention and the road conditions - there is connectivity between vehicles and between vehicles and roadside infrastructure.
