For the third time in a row, Xsens has been named in the Marine Technology Reporter 100 (MTR 100), a list with the 100 leading companies serving the global subsea market. The MTR 100 has been published for the 6th time and is of great significance to the maritime market. Xsens was also named in the 2009 and 2010 edition. Xsens has been a player in the maritime market for several years, especially thanks to the leading accuracy of the MTi, Xsens’ miniature Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). The MTi has been integrated in many maritime applications, e.g. in Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s) from Saab Underwater Systems and Seaeye. Another example of the application of the MTi is in USBL systems and sonar systems.
Next to the MTi, the MTi-G AHRS/GPS is an excellent measurement tool for motion sensing of surface vessels, such as survey ships, rigid inflatable boats and sailing yachts. The MTi-G has an onboard L1 GPS receiver. Septentrio, a partner company of Xsens, offers the AsteRxi, which combines a high-grade GNSS receiver (L1/L2) with the MTi for navigation in areas with degraded GPS reception, such as harbor environments or urban canyons. We are proud to be the only miniature AHRS manufacturer in the list. > Read the magazine (digital version)
