King Willem I award

Enschede – Xsens Technologies came in second at the King Willem I award ceremony that was held at the Theater Dilligentia in The Hague on May 29th. The prices were handed out by Crown-Prince Willem Alexander, future King of The Netherlands.

This prestigious price is awarded biannually to companies that distinguished themselves in entrepreneurship. The jury, chaired by Mr. Nout Wellink, President of the Dutch Central Bank, praised Xsens for their “exceptional audacity, innovation and perseverance in pursuing global business opportunities. As independent developer and supplier of inertial measurement units, they have become authoritative in their market segments. The company is being rightfully praised as a role model for others”.

CEO Casper Peeters is extremely proud of the result: “This is THE award for entrepreneurship in The Netherlands. We have been praised on our most important company criteria and we see this as a confirmation that we really are on the right track. It’s recognition for the entire team.”

Prices were awarded in two categories, for corporations with over and under 250 employees. First price in the latter category went to Heerlen-based Solland Solar Systems. In its 50th year of existence, the King Willem I award is the oldest and most prestigious business award in The Netherlands. ‘Het Financiële Dagblad’, the leading Dutch financial newspaper calls it “The Price of All Prices.”
