Advanced course on sensor fusion by University of Twente, Linköping University and Xsens
Professor Fredrik Gustafsson, of the University of Twente MIRA research institute and Linköping University and Dr. Daniel Roetenberg from Xsens will offer an advanced course on sensor fusion for tracking application within the DISC research institute and graduate school.
Sensor fusion deals with merging information from two or more sensors, such as inertial sensors, where the area of statistical signal processing provides a powerful toolbox to attack both theoretical and practical problems.
The objective of this course is to explain and get hands-on experience with state of the art theory and algorithms in statistical sensor fusion, covering estimation, detection and nonlinear filtering theory with applications to navigation and tracking problems and human motion capture.
The lectures are given on four Monday afternoons in October (1, 8, 15, 22) in Utrecht. To register and more information about the Sensor Fusion course, go to the website of DISC or read the information leaflet "Sensor fusion for tracking applications" (pdf). More information about the collaboration between prof. Gustafsson and Xsens can be found in this Xsens newsitem.
About DISC (Dutch Institute of Systems and Control):
Research school DISC is an interuniversity research institute and graduate school that unites all university groups in the Netherlands that are active in systems and control theory and engineering. It offers a nationally organized graduate programme for PhD students in this field.
