Xsens at opening YouTube Space Los Angeles

On November 28, 2012 YouTube (owned by Google) had a grand opening gala for their new Los Angeles “You Tube Space LA” facility.

At the opening event, there were over 500 guests from the entertainment and digital media industries in attendance and Xsens Inc. was on hand as a technology partner showing off the same 3D inertial motion capture technology acquired by YouTube for its state of the art motion capture studio. The Xsens MVN demonstrations were one of the highlights of the evening featuring live mocap sessions with longtime creative collaborators The Third Floor. At one point in the evening comedian Mark Womack of Barely Political donned an Xsens MVN mocap suit and entertained the crowd with live antics illustrating the ease of use and unique features that make the Xsens MVN technology a great compliment to the new YouTube facility.

The YouTube Space LA is a 41,000 square foot digital video production and post-production facility and community event space in Los Angeles. Part modern production facility, part collaboration and gathering place, the YouTube Space LA was established to meet the needs of digital storytellers; a place where YouTube creators will be given the time, resources, space and inspiration to evolve and innovate how they tell stories on YouTube, at no charge by YouTube.

The YouTube Space LA has over 41,000 square feet of production space comprised of the following spaces: - 6,000 sq ft cinema stage - 2,500 sq ft live stage - 1,500 sq ft recording studio - 1,000 sq ft green screen rooms (x3) - 1,500 sq ft motion capture studio - 1,000 sq ft rehearsal room/dance studio - 47 person indoor screening room - 200 person outdoor screening room/amphitheater

Xsens is honored and excited to be a part of the Google/YouTube family and we look forward to forging an exciting and innovative relationship.
