MVN BIOMECH is an extension of the Xsens MVN system. MVN BIOMECH is closely tailored to the needs of biomechanics researchers. Real time, synchronized video and graphical kinematic data, and export function to save data for use in other applications (including C3D format)

 

MVN BIOMECH

MVN BIOMECH is an ambulant, full-body, 3D human kinematic, camera-less measurement system. It is based on state-of-the-art MEMS inertial sensors, biomechanical models and sensor fusion algorithms. MVN BIOMECH is ambulatory, can be used indoors and outdoors regardless of lighting conditions. The results of MVN BIOMECH trials require minimal post-processing as there is no occlusion or lost markers. Results can easily be exported to other software applications. MVN BIOMECH is used in many applications like biomechanics research, gait analysis and sports science.

MVN human model


  • MVN uses a 23 segment biomechanical model with 22 joints
  • Each joint is specified by statistical parameters for 6DOF joint laxity. An advanced spine and shoulder model is used that computes the kinematics of the spine and shoulder blades

System calibration


Flexible calibration scheme with instant feedback regarding the expected accuracy. Calibration can be done without assistance from a second person.
