MTi

The MTi is a miniature size and low weight 3 DOF Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). The MTi contains accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers in 3D, available within several performance ranges.  Its internal low-power signal processor provides drift-free 3D orientation as well as calibrated 3D acceleration, 3D rate of turn and 3D earth-magnetic field data.

The MTi is an excellent measurement unit for stabilization and control of cameras, robots, vehicles and other (un)manned equipment.

The sophisticated Xsens sensor fusion algorithm can e.g. cope with temporary magnetic disturbances, resulting in a reliable orientation estimate. Additionally, the MTi incorporates a magnetic field mapping routine to correct for hard and soft iron effects that can affect the heading performance.

MTi Highlights

  • MTiReal-time computed attitude/heading and inertial dynamic data
  • 360º orientation referenced by gravity and Earth Magnetic Field
  • Integrated 3D gyroscopes, 3D accelerometers and 3D magnetometers
  • On board DSP, running the sensor fusion algorithm
  • Gyroscopes that enable high-frequency orientation tracking
  • High update rate (120 Hz), inertial data processing at max 512 Hz
  • Individually calibrated for temperature, 3D misalignment and sensor cross-sensitivity
  • Easy integration with the MT Software Development Kit, which provides an extensive set of tools for every level of interfacing

MTi-G

The MTi-G is a miniature size and low weight 6 DOF Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). The MTi-G contains 3D accelerometers, 3D gyroscopes, 3D magnetometers, an integrated GPS receiver, a static pressure sensor and temperature sensor. The inertial sensors are available within several performance ranges. Its internal low-power signal processor provides drift-free 3D orientation as well as calibrated 3D acceleration, 3D rate of turn, 3D earth-magnetic field, 3D position and 3D velocity data.

The MTi-G is an excellent measurement unit for stabilization and control of air and ground objects, especially when (long lasting) accelerations are involved.

MTi-GThe MTi-G is designed for reliable orientation output within applications facing long-lasting accelerations, a typical error source for any AHRS using the gravity as its reference estimating roll and pitch. The loose coupling works both sides: double-integrating the accelerometers for short periods, the MTi-G is able to calculate position and velocity even during short GPS outages. There are several more corrections realized to aid the IMU functionality and to enhance the GPS measurements.

MTi-G Highlights

  • Real-time computed GPS-enhanced attitude/heading and inertial enhanced position/velocity data
  • GPS integration overcomes typical IMU challenges
  • Integrated AHRS, GPS and static pressure sensor
  • On board DSP, running the sensor fusion algorithm
  • High update rate (120 Hz), inertial data processing at max 512 Hz
  • individually calibrated for temperature, 3D misalignment and sensor cross-sensitivity
  • Easy integration with the MT Software Development Kit, which provides an extensive set of tools for every level of interfacing
