Answer

The problem is related to an issue with the Windows mouse driver. If you connect first the sensor to the USB converter and then plug the USB converter into the PC, instead of recognizing an Xsens device, Windows thinks that you have connected a mouse.

To solve this problem you need to uninstall the erroneously detected mouse device. To do so, first disconnect the USB converter so you regain control of the mouse. Then open the Windows Device Manager and expand the 'Mice and other pointing devices' item. Now reconnect the USB converter (your mouse going hellwire again) and use the keyboard to select and uninstall the pointing device that will now be added. Disconnect the motion tracker (MT) and the USB cable. Make sure the MT is not connected to the USB cable and reinsert the USB cable into the computer. Windows should detect and install the Xsens device drivers. Once driver installation has been concluded, you can connect the MT.
