Rehabilitation
Xsens’ fully ambulant and highly accurate motion capture systems ensure that data recorded from every movement can be used.
Scientists and clinicians can now accurately assess and improve rehabilitation.
Quick set up and easy calibration minimizes the time required from volunteering subjects.
Xsens products enable scientists and clinicians to accurately assess and improve rehabilitation. Quick set up and easy calibration minimises the time required from volunteering subjects.
Xsens’ fully ambulant and highly accurate motion capture systems ensure that data recorded from every movement can be used; avoiding redundant experimentation time as well as limiting the chance of fatigue. This offers a major advantage over systems with limited measurement volume.
Other analyses, such as stair climbing can now be carried out on actual stairs without the need to create artificial staircases or other worry about recording volume. It is even possible visit patients and accurately measure movements in their own living environment improving the actuality of results. Furthermore, being fully ambulant and easy to use, and combine with other devices, Xsens products facilitate the growing trend of remote monitoring.
Recommended products for rehabilitation purposes ranges from single sensor, for eg activity detection, to the Xbus kit, with possibilities of measuring up to 10 motion trackers, to the MVN application, full body suit (17 sensors, for measurements of 23 segments), lower body (8 sensors) or upper body(11 sensors) depending on the specific application. Xsens products can also be synchronised with other equipment, e.g. EEG, EMG and force plates to name a few. Data can be output or exported in ASCII format, to be utilised in standard programs such as Microsoft Excel, or Matlab. Optional SDKs allow user-specific data manipulation.
Xsens collaborates intensively with rehabilitation centres, notably Roessingh Research and Development, NL and INAIL, IT.
