Sports Science

Xsens products provide freedom to analyze motion of athletes in the natural sporting environment. The systems are easy to set up, with output allowing detailed and accurate analysis in the natural sports environment, in and out of doors.

Skiing, golf, rowing, karate, and many other sports can now be analyzed without the usual restrictions imposed by laboratory setups.

Training and exercises can be recorded and replayed for offline analysis, or the athlete’s performance can be observed in real-time, to give direct feedback.

Various choices are available, the MVN suit or straps ensures that up to 17 sensors and associated cables are conveniently positioned to prevent restrictions of movement of the athlete. Skin and soft tissue artefacts are minimized and sensors are positioned allowing the data to be accurately utilised in a biomechanical model, in MVN studio. Prop sensors can also be used on sports equipment, eg an oar.
Alternatively, the xbusmaster and motion trackers are available, for which users can use their own sensor fixtures and locations.

The optional SDK gives easy access to data, allowing users to configure and easily integrate data for their own applications. The SDK contains a specially developed, easy-to-use, graphical user interface, drivers for different operating systems and many other useful tools, example code and documentation.
